Description
«Pingwu» is an evergreen bamboo with a recognizable garden form and decorative appeal that unfolds differently throughout the season. Its evergreen foliage or needles maintain rich green tones, keeping the planting decorative year-round. Flowering is rare and has no ornamental value. At maturity, the plant typically reaches 2–3 m in height and about 1.5–3 m in width, so its future scale is easy to consider when planning planting.
For harmonious development, it's important to choose conditions close to the plant's natural requirements. Optimal light — sun or partial shade. Soil — fertile, moisture-retaining, well-drained. Watering — regular; especially important in the first season and when in containers. Frost resistance — very high, around −25 °C.
In landscaping, the variety works well both as a standalone accent and as part of a more complex composition. Best use scenarios — screen, hedge, Japanese garden, container. The main advantages of «Pingwu» are year-round decorativeness, very high winter hardiness, suitability for container cultivation, the possibility of using it in hedges, and a striking decorative appearance. To maintain its form, simply follow this pruning scheme: removal of old stems and size limitation as needed.
