Begonia "Illumination Orange" is a highly sought-after and promising series of tuberous pendulous begonia for pot cultivation. It grows up to 20-25 cm, forming a branched, attractive bush with long shoots and an abundance of smooth, bright green leaves. During flowering, the bush is covered with large, double inflorescences of orange hues, maintaining their attractiveness for a long time. Pendulous begonia looks luxurious in spacious planters and garden vases, as it quickly spreads in width and easily fills the free space in the planting container. Such a plant can transform a landscape design or greening of a balcony, terrace, or loggia. Begonias look great both against the background of a well-maintained lawn and combine perfectly with Iberis, Lobularia, Surfinia, Lobelia, and other ornamental crops.
Growing begonia is easy and simple.
Begonias are mainly planted in pots, but can also be planted in open ground, only this place must be fenced off with a small border. For planting begonia tubers, loose and nutritious soil is required. If planting in a pot, choose one at least 20 cm in diameter. Its bottom should be covered with drainage material (expanded clay, stones). After that, the container is filled with soil.
The planting process itself is as follows:
- A small (about 2-4 cm) depression is made in the prepared area.
- A little sand is poured into the hole.
- The tuber is placed on the sand.
- Sprinkle with substrate so that the middle of the upper part remains on the surface, and water.
After a few days, buds appear, and the begonia starts to grow.
