It is characterized by early ripening and starts fruiting in the second year after planting. It is resistant to major pests and diseases and does not require prophylactic treatment.

Japanese Wineberry is a perennial ornamental fruit shrub from the Rosaceae family, native to Japan, Korea, and China. The plant grows quickly and forms long arching shoots approximately 1.5–3 m long, covered with characteristic reddish-purple pubescence. The leaves are rich green on top and silvery-white on the underside. Flowering begins in late spring - early summer. The flowers are small, pink or reddish, gathered in dense inflorescences. Fruiting continues approximately from July to September. The berries are small, rounded-conical, becoming bright red or dark purple, shiny, and very attractive when ripe. The taste is sweet, juicy, with a pleasant refreshing sourness and notes of raspberry, blackberry, and mulberry.
