Description
'Thornless Evergreen' is a garden blackberry: an impressive garden plant capable of adding depth, character, and a sense of completeness to a composition. Deciduous green foliage forms a fresh canopy during the season, and adds new shades to the composition in autumn. Flowering occurs in spring and early summer; the main flower color is "White / pale pink". The plant produces edible fruits; the fruit color is "Black / dark purple"; ripening usually lasts from July to September.
The beauty of the variety is particularly evident where lighting, soil, and humidity are selected according to its characteristics. Optimal lighting is full sun or light partial shade. Soil - fertile, well-drained. Watering - moderate. Frost resistance - medium to high, about −15…−25 °C depending on the variety.
In a composition, the plant helps create an expressive structure and maintain interest in the planting throughout the season. Best use scenarios - fruit garden, berry patch, edible hedge; compact varieties - containers. The main advantages of "Thornless Evergreen" are edible harvest, extended fruiting period, self-fertility, suitability for container cultivation, and the possibility of use in a hedge. To maintain its shape, it is sufficient to follow this pruning scheme: after harvesting, remove fruited two-year-old shoots; tie new ones to a support. Pollination feature - self-fertile; insects increase the yield.
