Clematis "Hagley Hybrid" - This is a fairly robust, though not fast-growing, variety. The flowering is abundant and long-lasting, with flowers having a delicate color. It will look great if planted near fences or natural supports - walls, gazebos, trellises, deciduous fruit trees, or coniferous shrubs. Overall, the variety is undemanding, but in direct sun, the flowering period shortens, and the flowers fade.

Clematis Planting: Since clematis can grow in one place for more than 20 years, the soil is prepared very deeply in advance. Typically, holes are dug at least 60x60x60 cm, and for group plantings, the entire area is prepared.

Clematis Care: Clematis care includes many agricultural practices, but the most important one is pruning. By pruning the plant correctly, you can achieve the development of powerful, abundantly flowering plants. There are clematis varieties that absolutely cannot be pruned. The flower buds on these plants are laid on the mature shoots of the previous year. Densely planted specimens are thinned out after flowering, leaving shoots at least 1 m long.

Soil for planting: Clematis prefer fertile sandy loam or loamy soil, rich in humus, loose, with a reaction from slightly alkaline to slightly acidic.

Preparation for winter: Clematis Hagley Hybrid is native to warm parts of the world, so they need shelter for the winter. In late autumn, all clematis are pruned, but pruned differently, depending on which group the variety belongs to.

Location for planting: It is best to find a spot at least 70 cm away from a wall, and for support, build a strong trellis, arch, or espalier. Such a distance of Clematis Hagley Hybrid from a capital structure will simplify care after planting in open ground and protect it from streams of rain and meltwater. Since the lianas must grow significantly without lacking nutrition and moisture, a gap of at least 1-1.5 meters is left between individual bushes.
