Clematis "Mikelite" is a good Estonian clematis variety that belongs to the Viticella group. Bright two-tone flowers with elliptical petals and a delicate fragrance will not leave anyone indifferent. This variety is unpretentious, but prefers to grow in places with abundant light. To achieve a beautiful contrast effect, it is worth planting these flowers against a background of lighter fences, supports or plants. Since the length of the liana can often reach large sizes, it is recommended to plant the variety next to small trees, shrubs or subshrubs.

Petals are elliptical, violet-purple with a bright red stripe in the middle. They are beautiful in contrast with yellow anthers planted on white staminal filaments. It grows and blooms best in well-lit places. Looks beautiful against a light background. Suitable for planting near fences, walls, gazebos, trellises, pergolas and other garden supports. Unpretentious and very effective. Does not require covering, frost-resistant. In spring, prune, leaving 20-30 cm above ground level.

When choosing a place for clematis, we take into account the fact that the plant prefers a warm place protected from strong winds, as well as the fact that flowers love a sunny place, and roots love shade. Therefore, it is good to plant low-growing flowers or ornamental grasses next to it. For example, hostas – excellent companions for the liana. Another option – mulching the roots. Pine needles, sawdust or straw are excellent as mulch. An important condition for good growth and development will be good drainage. When planting, crushed stone or broken bricks can be added to the bottom of the hole, especially it is actual if groundwater is close to the surface.

Clematis care: it is necessary to fertilize up to 5 times during the vegetative period. The plant also requires good watering, in average every 4-5 days.
