Description

Crocus -chrysanthus mix- is a spectacular mix of botanical crocuses, also known as "snow crocuses". These are among the earliest-flowering spring bulbous plants, capable of blooming as early as late winter, often pushing straight through the snow. The mix includes a variety of cultivars with flowers in white, cream, yellow, lilac, lavender, and purple shades, often with contrasting strokes and stripes on the outer side of the petals. The flowers are cup-shaped, small, but very numerous, and several buds form from a single bulb. The plants are compact, about 8–15 cm high, with narrow dark green leaves featuring a silvery stripe down the center. Flowering begins in February–March and lasts for several weeks.

Crocus chrysanthus Mix crocuses are perfectly suited for naturalization, spreading quickly and eventually forming picturesque flowering clearings. They look ideal in rockeries, alpine slides, borders, containers, and when planted in groups on a lawn. These plants prefer sunny areas or light partial shade and well-drained, loose soils without waterlogging. Bulbs are planted in autumn at a depth of 5–8 cm, leaving about 5–10 cm between them. The mix is distinguished by high winter hardiness, unpretentiousness, and resistance to spring cold snaps.
