Description

Crocus vernus "Whale Shark" is an impressive variety of spring crocus that attracts attention with its deep, purple color. This miniature yet extremely decorative plant will be a bright adornment for a spring garden when most flowers are just beginning to wake up.

The flowers are goblet-shaped, quite large for crocuses, with dense petals of a rich purple color. Darker veins on the petals give the flowers an exquisite depth, creating a visual effect of texture. Thanks to its noble shade and clear shape, Whale Shark looks very stylish and modern in any composition.

This variety is perfect for group planting in flowerbeds, rockeries, lawns, or under trees, where it creates vibrant splashes of color. It pairs perfectly with other early-flowering plants — snowdrops, chionodoxa, muscari. Crocuses love sunny or semi-shaded locations. After flowering, leave the leaves until they completely die back — they nourish the bulb for the next season.
