Description

Crocus "Yalta" is an elegant variety of botanical crocuses that captivates with delicate goblet-shaped flowers resembling snowdrops. The elongated petals have an unusual two-tone coloration: inside, the flowers are delicate lilac, and outside, they are white-lavender, which gives the plant a special lightness and sophistication. Narrow basal leaves and a short stem with transparent scales harmoniously complement the elegant appearance of the variety. This perennial crocus is perfect for spring flower beds, rock gardens, and natural garden compositions. The plant reaches a height of 15 cm. Flowering begins in April. The botanical Crocus Yalta variety is unpretentious to growing conditions; it is easy to cultivate both outdoors and for forcing. The flowers have good frost resistance. Planting time. The ideal period for planting Yalta crocus bulbs is September. Planting can also be done in early October. Planting location. This beautiful variety grows well in sunny areas with loose, fertile soil. The plants can also be planted in partial shade. Crocuses do not like acidic environments. Planting depth. Yalta crocus bulbs are planted to a depth of 5 cm, maintaining a distance of about 7-10 cm between plants. Care. Crocuses are light-loving plants that do not require special care. The flowers do not need watering, as there is still plenty of moisture in the soil after the snow melts during the flowering period. Do not feed the flowers with fresh manure, as this can be detrimental to them. Plants are transplanted approximately every 5 years.
