Description
Dahlia "Arabian Night" - this plant brings velvety, rich red decorative flowers, with vibrant inflorescences held on strong stems. Whether planted in a cluster or scattered throughout mixed beds, the flowers instantly create an impression and continue to bloom throughout the warmer months.
A mature plant typically reaches 90-120 cm, forming many long stems suitable for cutting. Regular harvesting and deadheading promotes stable flowering from mid-summer until autumn.
Begin growing tubers in spring in a frost-protected location, or plant them outdoors when the threat of frost has passed. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil and enrich the planting area with compost for best results.
Water during dry spells, especially when buds are forming, and feed every two to three weeks during the flowering period. Taller plants benefit from discreet staking, and removing faded flowers maintains the plant's productivity and neatness.
Ideally suited for borders, patio pots, and cutting, and also beneficial for pollinators in single-flowered forms.
