Description

Dahlia "Blue Bayou" - is the sophistication and luxury of every bud. These beauties were bred in the 80s in the USA and since then have won the hearts of millions of gardeners around the world. The variety is considered tall, can be combined in the garden with bulbs and gladioli or planted as a solitary plant.

Species features:

size: the bush reaches 90 cm in height, 60 cm or more in width;
flowers: double bud, purple petals with a lilac hue, tips - pointed;
leaves: dark green leaf plates, pinnate with a glossy sheen;
plant type: herbaceous perennial;
flowering period: August-September;
frost resistance: low;
disease resistance: high;
use: for single and group plantings in the garden/growing in pots/for cutting, strong shoots, do not need additional support;
planting conditions: plant tubers in April-May, optimal planting depth 25-30 cm, there should be up to 60 cm between roots, choose a site with slightly acidic, neutral soil;
humidity and watering: moist soil, regular watering, but without waterlogging;
winter for the plant: an important aspect of garden care is their wintering, dig up tubers in October with the first frosts, dry them, store at +3-6°C and 60-70% humidity.
