Description

Dahlia "Cornel" is a benchmark variety of the ball dahlia group, prized by gardeners worldwide for its impeccable form and incredible resilience. Its 8-10 cm diameter inflorescences resemble dense, perfectly symmetrical spheres. The petals, a rich dark red or cherry color, have a velvety texture and are neatly curled inwards, creating a distinct geometric pattern. The variety stands out for its exceptionally strong stems, making it one of the best choices for professional cutting and long-term display in the garden. The fragrance is light, barely noticeable.

It is moderately frost-resistant, so the tubers must be dug up for winter after the first frosts (October-November). After drying, they are stored in a dry, cool place at a temperature of +5...+10 °C. The variety prefers sunny locations and fertile, well-drained soils. Care includes standard measures: regular watering, feeding with complex fertilizers, and removing spent flower heads. Thanks to its resistance, the variety rarely suffers from diseases and pests with proper agricultural practices.

It is ideal for creating vibrant borders, group plantings, and is indispensable in floristry. In bouquets, the spherical inflorescences retain perfect freshness for up to 12-14 days.
