Description
«Black Beauty» is an elderberry: a vibrant garden element where naturalness combines with a neat form and expressive texture. The foliage or needles have the plant's characteristic color of «Purple / dark». Flowering continues from June to July; the main shade of the flowers is «Pinkish-purple». When mature, the plant typically reaches 2.5–4 m in height and about 2.5–4 m in width, so its future size is easy to consider when planning planting.
The variety reveals its decorative qualities best when planted in a properly chosen spot with stable, but not excessive, care. Optimal light — sun or partial shade. Soil — fertile, well-drained; requirements depend on the crop. Watering — moderate-regular; do not allow prolonged drying out after planting. Frost resistance — high, up to -25 °C.
In garden design, the plant is valued for its plasticity and ability to harmoniously support various planting styles. Best use scenarios — as a solitaire, in groups, borders, decorative compositions. The main advantages of «Black Beauty» are good winter hardiness, a harmonious bushy form, and versatility in garden compositions. To maintain its shape, it is sufficient to follow this pruning scheme: sanitary and formative pruning after flowering or in early spring — depending on the crop.
