Description

Galanthus "Dionysus" is an elegant variety with a rare double flower, bringing spring awakening even before the snow completely melts. The flowers are double, with several layers of inner petals, which have noticeable greenish strokes or spots, giving them decorativeness and depth. The outer petals remain snow-white, elongated, and delicate – thanks to this, the flower looks multi-layered and voluminous. Graceful, elegant, as if made of porcelain – these are the impressions Dionysus evokes.

The plant is small, with thin, narrow, grayish-green leaves that appear simultaneously with the flowers. Snowdrop Dionysus is excellent for naturalized plantings, rockeries, spring flower beds, as well as cultivation under trees or shrubs, where it creates magical «spots» of white against the still bare ground.

Semi-shaded places are best, especially under deciduous trees, where there is plenty of light in spring and moderate shade in summer. After flowering, the leaves should not be cut until they naturally die back – this is important for bulb nourishment.
