Description
Gladiolus byzantinus "Whistling Jack" is a variety close to botanical species, valued for its more natural appearance and good garden adaptation. Unlike classic tall gladioli, it looks lighter and more "lively", which is why it is often used in natural and meadow plantings.
The plant reaches 60-90 cm in height, forming thinner but stable flower stalks. The inflorescence is less dense than that of large-flowered gladioli: the flowers are more loosely arranged and open gradually. The flowers are medium-sized - about 5-7 cm. The color is rich, pink or purple, sometimes with a lighter throat. The fragrance is weak or absent.
