Description

Gladiolus Large-flowered Mix is a perfect solution for both small flower beds and large gardens. The plant has a long stem, topped with a luxurious spike-shaped inflorescence. Pastel shades of petals give the flower lightness and elegance. Soft pink, light purple, and muted burgundy colors perfectly complement each other in a bouquet. The plant has dense sword-shaped leaves, which is why it is also called a sword lily. The gladiolus has a light fragrance, which allows cut flowers to be placed in living rooms. In a bouquet, gladioli combine well with other plants, but also look great on their own.

Flower diameter: up to 5 cm.

Planting
Every 2 – 3 years, gladioli need to be transplanted to a new location, which is important to consider when planning a garden or flower bed. Planting time. Tubers should be planted in warm weather in late April or early May. Planting location. Gladioli prefer sunny, wind-protected spots with neutral, fertile soil. Planting depth. Depending on their size, tubers are buried to a depth of 8 – 10 cm. Care. As soon as inflorescences appear on gladioli, they need support. Thin stems can break under the weight of the flowers or due to gusty winds. For winter, bulbs are dug up and stored until the next planting at a temperature not lower than 5 degrees.
