Description

Gladiolus nanus "Summer Love" is the embodiment of tenderness and a romantic mood, enchanting with its refined watercolor palette. The flowers are large, with elegant triangular petals that have a slight waviness at the edges. The color of the variety is unusually exquisite: the main background of the petals has a very delicate, almost porcelain light pink shade, on which bright crimson-red spot-arrows clearly stand out in the center of the lower petals. The variety is valued for its harmonious combination of pastel and rich tones, as well as for the impeccable structure of the spike.

Planting (Gladiolus Summer Love)

Planting. Choose a sunny and wind-protected location for planting gladioli. The soil should be fertile and neutral, rich in nutrients. Plant the corms in late April / early May according to a scheme of 8-12x20 cm, depending on the size of the corms, to a depth of 8-10 cm.

Care. Gladioli need support. When they start to produce flower spikes, tie them up. Dig up the corms for winter. The best time to do this is in October. Sort the corms, then dry them and place them in storage, ensuring a temperature of about 5 °C. Gladioli are susceptible to fungi causing rot and fusarium. The most common pests are thrips and root mites.
