Description

Helleborus orientalis Pretty Ellen Mixed is a varietal mix of compact, early-flowering perennials with flowers of various colors: white, pink, burgundy, wine-red, and speckled. The plants form a dense, neat bush 35–40 cm high and about 30 cm wide. Flowering begins in late winter or early spring. Large flowers, 6–8 cm in diameter, are directed upwards, which favorably distinguishes this varietal mix from many other hellebores. The foliage is dense, leathery, dark green, evergreen, and remains decorative throughout the season. The variety is highly winter-hardy and withstands frosts down to -35 °C.

For cultivation, it is recommended to choose semi-shady or shady areas under tree crowns, protected from strong winds. Hellebore prefers fertile, loose, well-drained soils with a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction. The plant is moisture-loving, but does not tolerate water stagnation.
