Description

Hyacinthus "Aiolos" - a snow-white, long-lasting bloom for the spring celebration. This variety is excellent for early forcing. For this, dense bulbs of a large diameter with an intact base are used. The unpretentious hyacinth (Aiolos flower) should be stored at +9 °C at home. For sale, it is good to plant the bulbs in individual pots, one or three per pot.

Characteristics of Hyacinth Aiolos:
  • height 30 cm;
  • inflorescence dense, racemose;
  • multiple bell-shaped flowers;
  • diameter of each 3-4 cm;
  • pleasant aroma;
  • white color;
  • forcing period 3-4 weeks;
  • flowering duration up to 15-20 days;
  • hyacinth leaves are peribulbous, linear.



Planting and Care
Hyacinth bulbs are recommended to be planted in areas with nutritious and well-drained soil in the first half of autumn, from September to October. If the soil is heavy, it is necessary to "dilute" it with sand or peat to improve soil aeration. The planting depth will depend on the size of the bulbs: for large ones, a hole 15-18 cm deep is suitable, and for small ones, 5-10 cm.

After planting, water and mulch are applied in case of a frosty and snowless winter. In spring, the mulch should be removed from the area so that the soil warms up faster and the bulbs "wake up." If there is insufficient moisture, water and fertilize with multi-component fertilizers.

Hyacinths must be dug up after flowering, but it is worth waiting until the flower stalk wilts and dries out. This usually happens around the end of June or early July. Dig up the bulbs, remove diseased and damaged specimens, clean off the top scales and remnants of the dry flower stalk and roots. Then rinse and dry them in a shaded, well-ventilated area. After this, the planting material can be stored.
