Description

Hyacinthus "Aiolos" is an elegant variety with pure white flowers, characterized by prolonged and abundant blooming, ideally suited for spring forcing. The plant forms a dense racemose inflorescence about 30 cm tall, consisting of numerous bell-shaped flowers 3–4 cm in diameter with a pleasant aroma. Linear basal leaves complement its decorative appearance.

The variety is undemanding in care, well-suited for home cultivation and commercial forcing, which takes 3–4 weeks. Blooming lasts up to 15–20 days. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to use large, dense bulbs and store them at a temperature of about +9 °C. Hyacinth "Aiolos" is excellent for planting in individual pots, either singly or in groups, creating neat and effective compositions.




Planting and Care
Hyacinth bulbs are recommended to be planted in areas with nutritious and well-drained soil in the first half of autumn, from September to October. If the soil is heavy, it should be "diluted" with sand or peat to improve soil aeration. The planting depth will depend on the size of the bulbs: for large bulbs, a hole 15-18 cm deep is suitable, and for small ones – 5-10 cm.

After planting, water and mulch should be applied in case of a frosty and snowless winter. In spring, the mulch should be removed from the area so that the soil warms up faster and the bulbs "wake up". If there is insufficient moisture, water and fertilize with multicomponent fertilizers.

After flowering, hyacinths need to be dug up, but it is worth waiting until the flower stalk withers and dries out. This usually happens by the end of June or early July. Dig up the bulbs, remove affected and damaged specimens, clean them of outer scales and remnants of dry flower stalks and roots. After that, rinse and dry them in a shaded, well-ventilated area. After this, the planting material can be stored.
