Description

Hyacinthus "Delft Blue" - is one of the most popular hyacinth varieties with large, dense inflorescences of a delicate blue color. Its numerous star-shaped flowers form a thick cluster, exuding a rich sweet fragrance. The delicate blue color perfectly combines with other spring bulbous plants, making the variety ideal for creating romantic flower beds and spring compositions.

Hyacinths originate from the Mediterranean and Asia Minor, where they were cultivated in ancient times. The plant was brought to Europe in the 16th century and gained its greatest popularity thanks to Dutch breeders who created many decorative varieties. Delft Blue is considered a classic blue hyacinth and was named after the famous Dutch city of Delft, known for its blue porcelain.

The plant prefers sunny or slightly shaded areas with loose, fertile, and well-drained soil. It blooms in April–May, is highly frost-resistant, and undemanding in care. It is suitable for growing in flower beds, borders, containers, for spring forcing, and also for cutting, retaining freshness and a rich aroma for a long time.
