Description

Hyacinthus "Woodstock" - this is a hyacinth captivating with its rich burgundy color. The lower part of the stem is adorned with strap-like leaves, usually 9 of them. The flower is beautiful from all sides, blooms in early spring, and is therefore popular for forcing. 

Description of Hyacinth Woodstock:
  • leaves near the bulb, 10-20 cm long;
  • stem straight, strong, up to 30 cm high;
  • inflorescence double, apical;
  • 15-20 cm long;
  • consists of 30-35 flowers up to 4 cm in diameter;
  • color dark burgundy;
  • fragrance strong, pleasant;
  • blooms in March, lasts up to 20 days;
  • forcing in 21-28 days;
  • planted in a light substrate with humus;
  • the variety is unpretentious in care, resistant to frosts down to -35 °С.

Growing hyacinths and winter care for early flowering.
For winter forcing, large bulbs are used, which should be planted in the soil in October-November. A third of the bulb should remain above the ground. Maintain a temperature of +6-9 °С, water once a week. Approximately in mid-January, when the sprouts reach three centimeters, raise the temperature to +13 °С. For 5-6 days, the plants need to be shaded, and then well lit. Forcing will take less time if the temperature is gradually increased to +18 °С. To slow down vegetation, lower it to +3-5 °С.
