Description
Iris hollandica "Tigereye" is a spectacular variety of Dutch irises with a contrasting, "predatory" coloring, thanks to which it got its name. Its flowers combine rich dark shades with a bright yellow spot, creating an expressive and easily readable accent in the flower bed. This iris is often used in flower beds and for cutting.
The plant is slender, about 50-70 cm tall, with narrow, vertical leaves and strong flower stalks. The flowers are large, 8-10 cm in diameter, of classic shape: the upper petals are narrower and elongated, the lower ones are wide, with a characteristic bright "signal" spot. The coloring is contrasting - a deep purple or almost black tone combined with a yellow center. The aroma is weak or absent.
