Description
«Geneva» is a fruiting actinidia with an expressive appearance, beautiful texture, and harmonious silhouette. Its deciduous green foliage emphasizes the natural seasonal rhythm and creates a calm background for flowering or fruiting. Flowering continues from May to June; the main flower color is «White / creamy white». The plant forms edible fruits; the fruit color is «Green / reddish depending on the variety»; ripening usually lasts from September to October.
To keep the plant in a neat and expressive shape, it is sufficient to provide it with a suitable location and consistent care. Optimal lighting — sun or light partial shade, a place protected from strong winds. Soil — fertile, moisture-retentive, well-drained; slightly acidic to neutral. Watering — regular; moisture is especially important in summer and during fruit development. Frost resistance — very high, approximately up to −25…−30 °C.
The variety is equally suitable for ornamental and practical plantings, provided its scale and growth habit are taken into account in advance. The best use scenarios are as a fruiting vine for trellises, pergolas, and arches. The main advantages of «Geneva» — edible harvest, very high winter hardiness, effective vertical landscaping, an expressive vertical silhouette, and a combination of ornamental and practical value. To maintain its shape, it is sufficient to adhere to the following pruning scheme: form on a strong support; summer and winter pruning to control growth and fruiting. Pollination feature — a compatible male pollinator is usually required; check the sex of the variety/batch.
