Kiwi "Issai" - is a variety characterized by an unusual decorative, sharply lobed leaf shape. A deciduous plant in the form of a powerful vine, an adult grows up to 4 meters high. The fruits are green, the flesh is light green, with a delicate pineapple scent, resembling large gooseberries. Contains a huge amount of vitamins and microelements.

Specifications:

Height: up to 4 m

Flower diameter: 2.5—5 cm

Flowering period: May-June

Ripening period: October

Flower color: creamy

Actinidia arguta Issai will delight with attractive flowering already 2-3 years after planting a young seedling, and a few months later - with small, tasty fruits - "mini-kiwi". This is a self-fertile variety that does not require an additional pollinator plant. It is a good plant for decorating gazebos and arches.

The Issai variety is of Japanese origin, so it grows best in moderately moist areas in a sunny location, although it also tolerates light partial shade well. This is not only an ornamental plant - its fruits, up to 4 cm in size, resemble kiwi in shape, color, and taste. Gourmets will appreciate them and add them to their list of "favorites" in the garden.

When planting a bush, soil with an acidic reaction is added to the hole. If the garden has alkaline soils, the soil in the root zone of the actinidia is acidified annually.

Planting. For planting actinidia, choose places with dappled shade. The area should not be waterlogged. Since this is a climbing plant, it must be planted near a support. It can grow on any type of soil, except for soil with an alkaline reaction. To plant, dig a hole 60 by 60 cm. Place a drainage layer up to 15 cm at the bottom of the hole. Also add a mixture of humus and soddy soil, as well as 150 g of mineral fertilizers. Carefully straighten the roots and plant the plant.

Care. Care for actinidia bushes includes mulching the bush after planting and before wintering. It is also necessary to water about 2-3 times a week in spring and summer. To prevent branches from breaking, they must be carefully tied to a support. In spring, damaged or excess shoots must be pruned.
