Lilium "Lotus Beauty" is a variety of oriental double-flowered lily, part of a modern series named for the resemblance of its flower shape to a lotus. The flower is large (15-20 cm in diameter), fully double, consisting of many layers of petals. The color is white-cream with light speckles in the center; the base of the petals has a greenish tint. The plant height is about 100 cm. Flowering occurs in July. The variety is characterized by abundant and prolonged flowering (about two weeks). It possesses a pleasant fragrance characteristic of oriental hybrids.
It prefers sunny areas or light partial shade. It needs fertile, well-drained, and slightly acidic soil. The variety is considered frost-resistant, but in regions with harsh winters, mulching the root zone is recommended to protect the bulbs. Due to the absence of pollen (typical for many double-flowered varieties) and high ornamental value, it is often used by florists for creating bouquets and spectacular garden compositions.
