Description
«Red Candy» is a lingonberry with an expressive appearance, beautiful texture, and harmonious silhouette. Its evergreen foliage or needles maintain rich green tones, keeping the planting decorative year-round. Flowering occurs in spring and early summer; the main flower color is «White / pale pink». The plant produces edible fruits; fruit color is «Red»; ripening usually lasts from August to October.
To keep the plant neat and expressive, it is sufficient to provide it with a suitable location and consistent care. Optimal lighting – sun or light partial shade. Soil – acidic peaty soil; pH approximately 3.5–5.0. Watering – regular; soil constantly moderately moist. Frost resistance – very high, usually up to −30 °C.
The variety is equally suitable for decorative and practical plantings, provided its scale and growth habit are taken into account in advance. Best use scenarios – fruit garden, berry patch, edible hedge; compact varieties – containers. The main advantages of «Red Candy» are year-round decorativeness, edible harvest, extended fruiting period, self-fertility, and very high winter hardiness. To maintain its shape, it is sufficient to follow this pruning scheme: sanitary/as needed. Pollination feature – self-fertile/partially self-fertile; several plants increase the yield.
