Description

Magnolia "Galaxy" is a unique hybrid, distinguished by both the pleasant sweet scent of its flowers and, unlike other magnolia varieties, its narrow, pyramidal shape. It has a central trunk and ascending lateral shoots, making it ideal for planting in small gardens.

Dark red and purple flowers appear in late spring, so the plant avoids the risk of suffering from spring frosts. It blooms for a long time, providing a pleasant sight and a beautiful, sweet aroma in the garden.

Deciduous magnolias need moist, moderately acidic or neutral soil and should be planted in sun or partial shade. They have shallow roots that collect nutrients mainly from the topsoil, so it is important to pay attention when planting to sprinkle quality peat over the magnolia roots, possibly with the addition of long-acting soluble fertilizers. Do not plant the magnolia too deeply - this can kill the plant. For planting, choose a place where you will not dig or replant anything within a 2-meter radius of the magnolia - this beauty is quite selfish and does not like when its roots, which it spreads widely around itself, are disturbed. The plant is fully frost-resistant.
