Narcissus "Avalon" - is one of the best mid-flowering varieties, belonging to the Large-Cupped group. It grows up to 40 cm in height. It is very large, brightly colored. Despite its brightness, the flowers of this variety are very delicate, and the plant itself is refined. The corona is somewhat shorter than the perianth segments (petals): usually less than one-third the length of the perianth segments. But it is wider than in other species. The perianth segments are rounded, not bent back, lemon-yellow in color. The corona (cup) is wide, ruffled, with a corrugated edge, bright yellow, which later fades to milky white. The flowers are arranged horizontally. There is one flower stalk. The flower size is about 10 cm in diameter.
It is perfectly suited for flower beds, for planting under trees, and for growing in containers. It looks great in composition with other spring-flowering plants (muscari, tulips, violas). It is ideal for obtaining high-quality cut flowers, not only in open ground but also for forcing. This variety has a long flowering period and a delicate aroma. It grows well in full sun or partial shade. The flowering period is mid-spring.
