Description

Narcissus "Carlton" - is an early-flowering variety that belongs to the Large-cupped daffodils group. Registered in 1927. It stands out with its bright coloration, making it a real highlight in the garden.

This is a popular variety with an intense yellow color and vigorous growth. The flowers are very delicate, and the plant itself is refined. The corona is somewhat shorter than the perianth segments (petals): usually one third shorter than the length of the perianth segments. But it is wider than in other species. The perianth segments are rounded, not bent backwards, lemon-yellow in color. The corona (trumpet) is wide, ruffled, with a corrugated edge. It is bright yellow, and later fades. The flower stalk is leafless. Grows up to 40 cm in height. The bulb is up to 5 cm in diameter. It consists of several fleshy scales covered with a dry brown "tunic". Flowering time: April. 

Looks beautiful in large groups in flower beds, and surrounded by trees and shrubs. Location: sunny or slightly shaded (up to three weeks). Light soils, rich in organic matter, neutral or slightly acidic are suitable. Note that daffodils do not tolerate excess moisture. Planting depth is 20 cm, and the distance between bulbs when planting is 15 cm.
