Description

Narcissus "Sir Winston Churchill" is a double flower that creates a spectacular show in the garden. Impressive large flowers with several layers of brilliant yellow petals inside. The flower stalk grows up to 40 cm tall. Large flowers: about 6 cm in diameter. Each flower stalk produces 4 flowers. The perianth and other segments are in several whorls, white; the outer whorl is very wide. The perianth lobes are wide, waxy in texture, overlapping by half or more. The flowers are strongly fragrant. Leaves are bluish-green, linear.

Requires well-lit places protected from strong winds. Requires drainage. Can also grow in partial shade under tree crowns. For a greater effect, it is better to plant it in groups. Suitable for colorful beds, mixed flowerbeds, used for borders and rockeries. Cultivated in pots, tubs, and flower boxes. In the landscape, it looks good in company with hyacinths, tulips, muscari, crocuses, daisies, and forget-me-nots. Ideal for obtaining high-quality cut flowers and suitable for forcing.

It has a long flowering period (up to three weeks). Withered flowers should be removed promptly, and leaves should be left until they wither naturally. The bulbs can be left undisturbed in open ground, where after several years they will form large clumps. This variety is frost-resistant. However, potted plants require protection from cold.
