Description
Paeonia "Duchesse" de Nemours - is one of the most famous white lactiflora peonies, which has been considered a standard of elegance for over a century and a half. The variety is valued for its large, densely double flowers, refined fragrance, and long-lasting bloom. Its luxurious creamy-white inflorescences give the garden a noble appearance and combine perfectly with plants of any color scheme.
Decorative features
The main ornament of the variety is large, densely double flowers with numerous silky petals forming a lush spherical shape. When fully open, the flowers look voluminous and very striking.
At the beginning of blooming, the central petals have a delicate creamy-yellow or lemon tint, which gradually transitions to a pure white color. This smooth change in coloration gives the flowers special depth and sophistication.
The variety has a strong pleasant aroma with subtle sweet and light citrus notes, making it considered one of the best white peonies for fragrant gardens and cut flowers.
The foliage is large, dark green, dense, and glossy. After flowering, the bush maintains a neat shape and remains decorative until late autumn.
The plant forms a powerful, densely leafy bush with strong upright stems. During mass flowering, very large flowers may slightly bend, so decorative supports are recommended if necessary.
