Description

Ranunculus asiaticus "Aviv" rose - this low-growing variety of Asian buttercup is valued by florists for its attractive pink flower heads, remotely resembling a slightly opened rose or peony. The plant can be grown both indoors and outdoors.

Its bulbous rhizomes cannot withstand frosts below -7 degrees, so in our climatic zone, they are dug out of the ground after the stem has completely yellowed and dried. The rhizome is planted in open ground after stable warm weather sets in. In indoor pots - in early spring: March-April. The planting depth in open ground is 10 cm, in a pot the tubers are covered with soil only by 3-5 cm. The plant does not tolerate heavy loams with water stagnation, so for its good development, a light soil mixture and drainage should be provided.

In the flowerbed, the Asian buttercup prefers partial shade: its luxurious rose-like flower heads bloom longer, do not burn, and retain their rich color. However, in a city apartment, it's best to place the pot in the sunniest spot, ensuring timely watering and infrequent potassium fertilizing. During the dormant period, the tuber is dug up, stored dry at positive temperatures. Before planting, soak it in water for several hours.
