Description

Tulipa "Angels Wish" - is a charming flower, large, white by itself, but with a slightly lemon-colored back at the bottom. The bottom and pistil are yellow, the antennae-anthers are also yellow. The leaves are narrow, growing from the bottom of the bulb and slightly wrapping around the stem. The flowers are quite tall, as the stem reaches 55 cm. It blooms in May and therefore belongs to the class of medium, simple tulips. The tulip bulb renews itself every season, meaning the old, worn-out one dies off, and a new one is reborn in its place.


Tulips prefer sunny, wind-protected areas with light, well-drained, non-acidic soil. Before planting, compost should be added (up to 10 kg/m²); fresh manure should not be used. Bulbs are planted in September – early October: small ones to a depth of 7–10 cm, large ones — up to 15 cm, leaving 10–20 cm between them. When planting, it is recommended to add a layer of sand for drainage.

Tulips are frost-resistant but do not tolerate waterlogging. In dry periods, they require watering. After flowering, the ovaries are removed, and the leaves are left until they completely wither. In July–August, the bulbs are dug up, dried, and stored until planting at a gradually decreasing temperature. For winter, plantings are mulched with peat or compost. Tulips can grow in one place for up to 5 years.
