Description

Tulipa "Ballade" - is one of the best varieties belonging to the lily-flowered tulip class. It blooms at the end of the season. The flower is typical for this class: very elegant and delicate, resembling lilies in shape. The petals are elegant, elongated, bent outwards, narrow and long. When fully open, the flowers resemble stars. The center is creamy yellow. It captivates not only with the beauty of the flowers of this variety, but also with its intoxicating aroma.

Tulips prefer sunny, wind-protected areas with light, well-drained, non-acidic soil. Before planting, humus is added (up to 10 kg/m²), fresh manure should not be used. Bulbs are planted in September - early October: small ones at a depth of 7–10 cm, large ones up to 15 cm, leaving 10–20 cm between them. When planting, it is recommended to add a layer of sand for drainage.

Tulips are frost-resistant but do not tolerate water stagnation. During dry periods, they require watering. After flowering, the ovaries are removed, and the leaves are left until they completely wilt. In July–August, the bulbs are dug up, dried, and stored until planting at gradually decreasing temperatures. For winter, plantings are mulched with peat or compost. Tulips can grow in one place for up to 5 years.
