Tulipa "Carnaval de Nice" - this is a late-flowering variety that belongs to the class Double Late Tulips (Division 11 – Double Late). A charming tulip in every respect! It is spectacular and fragrant. Its double flower outwardly resembles a peony inflorescence. The secret of its beauty is the harmony of bright and light colors. Shades of red, pink, and white are collected in one flower. The center of the flower is pale yellow.
In addition, each flower has 18-20 petals. When open, the spread of its bright petals is 8-10 cm in diameter. At peak bloom, the flower is quite heavy, so it sometimes needs support. The flowering of this variety is longer compared to other types (up to three weeks). The flower stalk is quite strong, about 45 cm high. This tulip requires a well-lit space protected from strong winds. It can grow in partial shade. For a greater effect, it is better to plant it in groups under trees, in mixborders or borders. Soil - any well-drained garden soil, neutral or slightly alkaline. It grows well in one place for 3-4 years without transplanting, however, it is recommended to plant it in a new place annually. High frost resistance: this variety can withstand temperatures down to – 40°C. This variety combines well with other tulip varieties and spring-flowering bulbous plants. The height of the tulip is about 45 cm.
