Tulipa "Giuseppe Verdi" is a spectacular early-flowering variety from the Kaufmanniana tulip group. It is characterized by high hardiness, compact size, and unusual flower coloration.
Tulip Giuseppe Verdi grows up to 20 cm tall. Large single flowers have a bright yellow color with red flame-like streaks on the outside of the petals and red spots in the center. In sunny weather, the flowers open wide, taking the shape of a water lily, which is why the variety is often called "water lily tulip". The diameter of a fully open flower reaches 8–10 cm. The plant's attractiveness is also enhanced by its bluish-green leaves with reddish-purple stripes. Flowering begins in late March or early April and lasts 2–4 weeks. The fragrance is light and pleasant.
The variety is excellent for rock gardens, borders, container growing, and group plantings. It prefers sunny locations and light, well-drained soils. It is characterized by good winter hardiness, resistance to adverse weather, and with proper care, it annually delights with abundant flowering.
