Description

Tulipa "Kingsblood" - is an elegant flower that belongs to the Single Late class. Introduced in 1952. And still enjoys great popularity worldwide. 

The flowers are crowned with long, strong peduncles. Therefore, this variety is ideal for producing high-quality cut flowers, not only in the open field but also for forcing. It grows well both in a sunny location and in partial shade.

Characteristics:
  • peduncles are strong, covered with oblong green leaves;
  • plant height reaches 60 cm;
  • bud height 7-8 cm;
  • aroma is light, noticeable.

It can be planted in freely placed groups under trees, in mixed borders, or in rock gardens. It combines well with other lighter varieties and spring-flowering bulbs. For planting, choose a location protected from cold winds.

The soil for planting should have good drainage but, at the same time, retain moisture well, as the bulbs do not have deep roots. It is best to dig up the bulbs every year after flowering and store them in a dry, cool, dark place. And in autumn, before frost, plant them again so they can root well.
