Description

Tulip "Pacific Pearl" - these fringed tulips often become a central figure in landscape design, around which other spring-flowering bulbous plants are grouped. And this variety is no exception. It grows up to 50 cm tall. It has dark red flowers with needle-like fringes. They rise on elegant stems. Over time, the flowers acquire a brownish color. The fringe of this amazing tulip strongly resembles frost crystals on a window in winter. The flower itself is beautifully shaped, quite dense, and does not fully open in the sun. The petals are wide, with pointed tips. The center of the flower is yellow. The height of the cup is about 7 cm, and the diameter of the cup is 5 cm or more. The flowering period is April-May. It blooms for a long time - two weeks or more.

It produces cut flowers of the highest quality, not only in open ground but also when forced. It looks great in mixed borders, regular plantings in flowerbeds, or in containers. Other varieties and spring-flowering bulbous plants can emphasize its beauty.
They can grow in the same place for 3-4 years. Bulbs are dug up after the leaf tips have yellowed (June-July). Bulbs are best stored in a dry, well-ventilated room. It is necessary to periodically check and discard diseased plants. Those overwintering in the soil should be covered with a layer of bark or peat.
