Tulipa "Sarah Raven" – an elegant and very popular variety of Lily-flowering tulips, named after the famous British gardener and writer Sarah Raven. The variety is valued for its noble color, graceful flower shape, and high decorative appeal both in the garden and as a cut flower.
The flowers have a rich dark burgundy, wine-red hue with deep raspberry-black iridescence, which does not lose its brightness even in direct sunlight. Elegant pointed petals gently curve outwards, giving the buds a characteristic lily shape and special grace. The plant reaches about 40 cm in height, forming strong flower stalks that withstand spring bad weather well.
Sarah Raven belongs to late-flowering varieties and reveals its impressive buds in mid or late spring. The tulip is characterized by a long period of decorativeness, is excellent for creating contrasting compositions in flowerbeds and borders, and also has a long vase life. Under favorable conditions, the variety recovers and is capable of delighting with repeated flowering in subsequent years.
