Description
Weigela florida "Alexandra" (pbr) is a striking ornamental shrub, also known by the trade name Wine & Roses®. This variety is valued for its rich dark burgundy foliage, bright pink flowers, and long-lasting bloom. Its high ornamental value persists from spring to late autumn, making the plant a true garden gem.
The main feature of this variety is its dense foliage of deep purplish-burgundy color, which effectively contrasts with large, bell-shaped flowers of a rich pink hue.
The bush is dense, rounded, with strong shoots and a neat crown. Flowering begins in May–June and lasts for several weeks. A repeated, less abundant bloom is possible in late summer.
Even after flowering, the plant remains decorative due to its unusual leaf color.
