Weigela "Red Prince" - is one of the most popular Weigela varieties with large, bright red flowers and long-lasting blooms. It is characterized by fast growth, high decorativeness, and reliable winter hardiness. Thanks to the rich color of its flowers, the bush becomes an impressive accent in the garden throughout the season.
Decorative features
The bush is dense, spreading, with gracefully curved shoots and rich green foliage. During flowering, the plant is almost completely covered with large, tubular-bell-shaped flowers of a pure bright red hue, which retain their intense color even in bright sun.
The main flowering occurs in May–June. Under favorable conditions, the variety re-blooms in late summer – early autumn.
Use in landscape design
Weigela 'Red Prince' is perfect for single and group plantings, creating free-growing hedges, mixed borders, and decorative compositions. It combines effectively with conifers, spiraeas, barberries, ninebarks, hydrangeas, and perennial flowers.
It can be used as a bright color accent near terraces, paths, and recreation areas.
