Description

Allium "Gladiator" is a decorative onion that seems to copy its counterparts in color and form. The variety first unfurls thin, lance-shaped leaves, often arching. After that, it produces a large cylindrical flower stalk. The height of the flower stalk can exceed the height of a 6-year-old child.

Allium buds resemble fluffy purple spheres. Only one bud, consisting of a large number of small 5-petalled flowers, is attached to a single flower stalk. Gladiator is practically odorless. The aroma of this Allium variety resembles freshly cut grass and a subtle sweetness.


Planting (Allium Gladiator)
Allium is intended for planting in spring rockeries and flower beds.

Planting time. September-October is the optimal time for planting bulbs in open ground.

Planting location. Not all Alliums like partial shade, and this is exactly the case. In addition to needing nutritious soil, the variety also needs to receive a lot of sunlight.

Planting depth. Allium bulbs are buried 40 cm deep in the soil to ensure a strong and stable stem.

Care. Despite the variety's magnificent appearance, its care differs little from that of smaller Allium varieties. Watering the flower is abundant, carried out after the soil has completely dried out.
