Description
Allium "Hair" - is a very unusual and rare representative of ornamental onion. The flowering process is very interesting and fascinating – inflorescences emerge from a bud, gradually swelling from top to bottom. Breaking free from its sheath, the flower reveals all its unusual beauty.
Appearance and Scent
Allium Hair blooms in late spring – early summer. Even before the flowering period, this plant begins to perform a decorative function thanks to its green leaves. The leaves are basal and do not rise high above the ground. The bulb produces a tall, succulent flower stalk, as if striving upwards towards the sunlight.
The inflorescences of Allium Hair have a whimsical shape that can be observed as the flower gradually unfolds. In the form of a bizarre fluffy flower, it rises 120 cm above the flower stalk. The flower color is purple with characteristic thin green petals, resembling hair sticking out in different directions.
Planting (Allium Hair)
Planting allium bulbs will not take much time or effort. Healthy bulbs are placed in pre-prepared moistened furrows, covered with soil and additionally covered with peat.
Planting time. Alliums are planted in autumn, additionally mulching the soil so that the bulbs can calmly overwinter and delight with their sprouts in spring. The optimal planting period is mid-September – early October.
Planting location. Allium Hair will grow well in sunny areas with well-drained, fertile soil. Choose a location where tall, lush plants would be appropriate.
Planting depth. As a rule, the planting depth is about 15 cm. You should focus on the size of the planting material. It is customary to deepen the bulb to a depth equal to two of its sizes.

The variety I wanted to inspect first was Allium "Hair". The first watering was absorbed normally after the journey. So far, routine care has been enough.
