Description
Allium karataviense is one of the most recognizable ornamental onions due to its unusually wide, almost succulent leaves and dense spherical inflorescences. The grey-green leaves, often with a purple tint, form an impressive rosette even before flowering begins, making the plant ornamental already in early spring.
The inflorescences are large, dense, consisting of many small flowers of a delicate pink or lilac shade. Flowering begins in late spring and continues until early summer. The height of the plant usually does not exceed 20-30 cm, but visually it looks massive and "expensive" due to its shape and structure.
This variety is ideal for flower beds. It looks very good in minimalist plantings and designer gardens. Thanks to its compactness, it is excellent for growing in containers. Unpretentious, drought-resistant, does not require complex care - an ideal option for both beginners and commercial plantings.
