Description

Allium roseum - this is a beautiful name for a decorative pink onion. This variety of the amaryllis family grows in both wild and cultivated conditions.

Appearance and Aroma
The leaves and stems of the plant are very thin, resembling spring grass. Above the dense greenery in May, floral panicles with a lilac glow unfurl. The bell-shaped flowers, collected in inflorescences of 5-20 pieces, have a delicate, herbaceous-floral scent. The inflorescences are attached only to the upper part of the plant.

Planting (Allium Roseum)
The best place for planting the plant is low meadows and flower beds. Beautiful flowering alliums can be grown in outdoor containers.

Planting time. Allium bulbs need time to root before the cold weather sets in, so planting begins in September and ends in November.

Planting location. This variety is light-loving, which implies obtaining nutrients from the soil. The soil should be light, well-drained, without water stagnation.

Planting depth. The Roseum bulb is small. It is sufficient to plant it at a depth of 5 cm and, without tamping, cover it with soil.

Care. Since Allium Roseum is quite low, it needs to be cleared of weeds. It is advisable to additionally loosen the soil and apply fertilizers 1-3 times per season. The variety is not fertilized with fresh organic matter, preferring specialized complex feeding. To ensure the allium survives the winter, the soil around the bulb is mulched.
