Deciduous Azalea "Daviesii" - this is one of the most elegant and fragrant representatives of old Ghent hybrids, valued for its refined coloration and expressive flower shape.
The flowers of this variety are large, funnel-shaped, with an elongated tube and slightly wavy petals. They open from delicate pink-apricot buds and gradually transform into creamy-white, almost pure white flowers with a soft yellow spot (fleur) in the center of the upper petal. Sometimes a slight pinkish tint is noticeable at the beginning of blooming, which quickly disappears, leaving a clean light palette.
Inflorescences are gathered in dense clusters, making the bush look airy and at the same time lush during flowering. The diameter of individual flowers is usually about 5–7 cm, the shape is classic tubular-funnel-shaped.
The main feature is a strong, rich aroma inherited from the parent species, which makes the variety one of the most fragrant among deciduous azaleas.
Overall, the flowering looks very elegant: luminous white-cream flowers with a warm yellow accent create the effect of a soft glow in the garden, especially in partial shade, where the shades are revealed as deeply as possible.
