Juniperus chinensis "Stricta" is a decorative evergreen coniferous shrub with a dense, slender crown and attractive bluish-green needles. Thanks to its neat shape, slow growth, and high decorative value, the plant is perfectly suited for small gardens, rockeries, coniferous compositions, and solitary plantings.

The main feature of the cultivar is its dense, narrowly conical crown with vertically growing shoots. The needles are dense, short, slightly prickly, and of a beautiful glaucous-green or bluish-green hue. Young growths look especially fresh and vibrant. In colder seasons, the color may change slightly, acquiring calmer gray-blue tones.

'Stricta' is characterized by relatively slow growth and long retains a compact, neat silhouette. An adult plant typically reaches about 2–2.5 m in height and 1–1.5 m in width. Thanks to its naturally correct shape, the shrub practically does not require regular shaping pruning.

For planting, it is best to choose sunny areas or light partial shade. In a well-lit location, the needles acquire the most expressive bluish-green hue, and the crown remains dense. The juniper prefers light, well-drained soils and does not tolerate prolonged waterlogging. After rooting, it tolerates short dry periods quite well.

The cultivar has good frost resistance and, with proper site selection, does not require complex care. Young plants after planting should be regularly watered, and the soil around the root zone can be mulched to retain moisture.

Juniperus chinensis 'Stricta' looks especially impressive among decorative stones, in alpine gardens and rockeries, near paths and entrance areas. Its slender bluish-green crown beautifully contrasts with golden thujas, green conifers, ornamental grasses, and flowering perennials.
