The plant was fixed securely inside the box. The labels remained visible inside the package. That was enough to leave a good first impression.

Description
Chamaecyparis lawsoniana "Ellwoodii" - is an ornamental evergreen coniferous plant with a dense, narrowly conical crown and beautiful glaucous-blue or bluish-green needles. Thanks to its neat vertical silhouette, this variety looks impressive both in single plantings and in compositions with other conifers and ornamental plants.
The crown is dense, compact, consisting of numerous vertically directed shoots. The needles are small, soft, densely arranged, with a characteristic bluish-grey tint. Young growths can be slightly lighter, giving the plant additional volume and expressiveness.
«Ellwoodii» is a slow-growing variety. In garden conditions, a mature plant usually reaches about 2–3 m in height, while maintaining a relatively narrow crown approximately 0.8–1.2 m wide. Thanks to its slow growth, it remains compact for a long time and is well suited even for small areas.
For planting, it is recommended to choose a bright spot or light partial shade, preferably protected from strong cold and drying winds. In a well-lit area, the bluish color of the needles is most pronounced.
The Cypress prefers fertile, moderately moist, and well-drained soil. It does not like prolonged drying out of the soil, especially at a young age, so regular moderate watering is required after planting. At the same time, waterlogging in the root zone is also undesirable.
The variety tolerates light formative pruning well, although thanks to its natural correct shape, it usually practically does not need it. In regions with harsh winters, young plants should preferably be placed in a sheltered spot and protected from winter desiccation and early spring sun.
Chamaecyparis lawsoniana «Ellwoodii» is perfectly suited for conifer compositions, rockeries, entrance area decoration, small gardens, and planting near terraces. The bluish needles combine especially beautifully with golden thujas, green junipers, decorative stones, and flowering perennials.
