Description
Juniperus communis "Green Carpet" - is a spectacular dwarf evergreen shrub that forms a dense, low carpet of rich green color. Thanks to its prostrate form, compact height, and unpretentiousness, this variety is ideal for landscaping slopes, rock gardens, rockeries, and areas between decorative stones.
The main feature of "Green Carpet" is its wide ground-covering crown. Long, densely branched shoots are arranged almost horizontally and gradually cover the earth's surface with a dense green carpet. The needles are short, dense, needle-like, and have a pleasant rich green hue. The plant retains its decorative appearance all year round.
The variety is characterized by slow growth and a small height. An adult plant usually reaches only 10–20 cm in height, while spreading to about 1–1.5 m in width. Thanks to these proportions, the juniper effectively covers open soil areas without creating a tall, voluminous crown.
For planting, it is recommended to choose sunny locations or light partial shade. In well-lit areas, the plant forms a particularly dense and uniform crown. "Green Carpet" is undemanding regarding soil, but it develops best on light, well-drained soils without prolonged water stagnation.
After rooting, the plant is quite drought-resistant and does not require frequent watering. Young seedlings should be watered regularly initially after planting. The variety is highly frost-resistant, tolerates cold winters well, and does not require complex care.
Juniperus communis "Green Carpet" looks especially effective among stones and gravel, on slopes and retaining walls. It can be used as a groundcover plant, planted in the foreground of coniferous compositions, or combined with dwarf pines, thujas, ornamental grasses, and perennials.

A small fresh sign appeared at one of the growing points. The plant held its shape once the protective wrapping was removed. The stems remained firm instead of drooping further.
